Shiatsu, Acutonics and Stones can be used in each treatment. By combining them, they complement and harmonise each other beautifully.
Shiatsu is a Japanese healing form that engages the power of touch, stretches, and gentle manipulation to replenish and release us physically, emotionally and energetically to promote healing. It is a holistic therapy that goes beyond traditional massage and is fully integrated into Japan’s healthcare system and is studied at degree level here in the West.
With it’s roots in Traditional Chinese Medicine Shiatsu engages the points used in Acupuncture only it uses manual pressure instead of needles. These points are on the body’s energy pathways known as meridians. The practitioner seeks diagnosis and treatment methods that result in no two treatments being the same concentrating not just on the symptoms but on the individual’s vitality and innate healing power. It is a creative practice that works with the body’s own resources, supporting and meeting the whole person. This non-invasive and relaxing therapy supports physical, emotional, and mental well-being.

SHIATSU
Shiatsu offers us a way of supporting our body at all times of our life.
It is connected to outstanding effects on digestive and bowel disorders, improving appetite, releasing toxins, and tackling nausea.
The effect of shiatsu on the respiratory system recommends it for hay fever, asthma, and the overall sensitivity to colds. Tackling muscle pain and tension, shiatsu is also integrated in the rehabilitation of sports injuries. Beneficial for poor posture, shiatsu can help sciatica issues, along with arthritis and many other inflammatory conditions. As a strong mood lifter, shiatsu is praised for its impact on fatigue, insomnia, stress, anxiety, and depression. Stimulating the hormonal system, shiatsu can also be applied for premenstrual syndrome and low libido.

There are multiple benefits from shiatsu.
Different shapes, sizes, ages and health goals demand different techniques from distinctive stretches and applied pressure to gentle holding, tonifying, dispersing etc. All depends on the individual's diagnosis and needs. Shiatsu offers very effective tools to support the well being of mothers and their families through their experience of fertility, pregnancy and birth. It is known to be particularly effective for inducing labour without intervention. Shiatsu can also be a wonderful support for people living with cancer and other potentially life threatening diseases.

I find the addition of Acutonics (applied pressure using tuning forks -creates sound vibrations through the body) can help to enhance and strengthen treatments and can be particularly effective for anxiety, insomnia and much more.

Our bodies hold the story of our whole life. Our shape, posture and expression often mirrors our relationship with life. Shiatsu is a way of exploring our connection and relationship with some of the patterns we hold that at times can cause us tension or pain. By being held, met and supported we can transform some of those patterns. We can then step in to life from a new stance or posture - enabling us to move towards a deeper sense of well being.

Shiatsu keeps a very close relation to Traditional Chinese Medical theory for diagnosis and treatment. Much of the medicine in East Asia uses the classical system of meridians and tsubo, the Ki (vital energy), the laws of Yin and Yang and the Theory of the Five Elements. Acupoints / tsubos lie along meridians or channels, in our body, as used in Acupuncture and Shiatsu. Through these channels flows vital energy -- a life force called qi (ch'i). The 12 major meridians connect specific organs, organizing a system of communication throughout the body. When one of these meridians is blocked or out of balance, illness can occur. Shiatsu and acupuncture are among the types of TCM that can help to restore balance.
